Looking back on the last eight years, it is still clear that working with animals is my passion and a skill I enjoy expanding upon. After completing training and earning my diploma from The Academy of Dog Grooming Arts in 2004, I began working alongside the original owner of The Barking Lot. She had a wealth of experience and was eager to share her knowledge. Her guidance allowed me to apply the skills I learned in school and develop hands-on experience with all breeds of dogs, grooming patterns, and dog personalities. My apprenticeship afforded me the opportunity to purchase The Barking Lot in May 2005. Since then, the business has steadily grown and even resulted in the need for additional space. The Barking Lot moved from its original location in downtown Wheaton to a larger facility at the intersection of Gary Avenue and Geneva Road. Through it all, the main focus has remained the safe care and handling of our four-legged clients while ensuring top-notch service to our two-legged customers.
The Barking Lot is my home away from home. My own dogs, Lexi, Max, & Lola even enjoy coming to work as “greeters.” We appreciate our loyal customers and the friendships developed over the years. Here’s too many more to come…
